简介: 故事发生在红军长征时期，国民党发动第五次大围剿，红军被迫转移。赵志刚率领突击连为红军主力争取转移时间，与国军进行殊死一战，全连最终只剩十三个弟兄。白匪头目白伍德奉命追击红军，威逼百姓带路。为了救下乡亲父老，红霞答应带路，却被村民误会。红霞的弟弟石头一心想当红军，却中了白伍德的诡计，将赵志刚率领的红军残部带入了埋伏圈。经过一番激战，红军又损失了多人，石头也壮烈牺牲。赵志刚等人抬着受伤的战友继续追赶大部队，但伤重的战友为了不影响队伍行进速度，舍生取义。赵志刚与红霞之间因误会而产生隔阂，但最终红霞为了救赵志刚并协助红军歼灭敌人，英勇就义。
