简介: 19世纪海上出现一只疑似为独角鲸的“怪物”，引起全球轰动。阿龙纳斯教授、康塞尔、尼德·兰三人受邀参加追捕，却意外落水，发现“怪物”实际上是一艘名为“鹦鹉螺号”的潜艇。他们被潜艇船长尼摩所救，并随其开始了一段奇妙的海底旅程。他们从太平洋出发，穿越珊瑚岛、印度洋、红海、地中海、大西洋，见识了众多罕见的海底动植物和奇异景象。同时，也经历了搁浅、土著围攻、同鲨鱼搏斗等惊险事件。在历经近十个月的冒险后，三人最终逃离“鹦鹉螺号”，将海底的秘密公之于众。
