简介: 在福建省的西南地区的崇山峻岭中，分布着成千上万座土楼，仅仅在永定县境内，土楼就有数千座。土楼的主要形式有圆楼、方楼、五凤楼，还有五角楼、纱帽楼、吊脚楼等一些其他的变形。过去，由于当地土匪经常出没，为了抵御外敌，建造了适合固守的以土、木、石、竹为主要建筑材料的土楼，牢固耐用的土楼外墙，神奇的洞口防卫，神秘的传声筒与地方通道，以及牢固严密的防卫体系，当大门闭合时，土楼将自动生成牢不可破的堡垒。 2008年，福建土楼被正式列入《世界遗产名录》。
