简介: 相传在我国古代曾有一个名叫秦宁的诸侯国。秦宁王连生三位公主，王位后继无人。奸臣吴贵伺机图谋篡位，大肆贪污水利款，扩充自己势力，导致洪水泛滥；他还利用百姓迷信、恐惧心理，串通国师装神弄鬼，嫁祸刚刚出生的三公主，说她是祸国殃民的灾星，要将她祭河神。护国公暗地保护，使三公主逃过一劫，自此流落民间。三公主被香山脚下宋药师收养长大，与宋药师的儿子宋多青梅竹马，互生爱意。不料宋母棒打鸳鸯，逼她离家出走。受尽磨难的她在护国公的帮助下恢复公主身份。她生性善良，体恤百姓疾苦，深得百姓拥戴。奸臣吴贵为达篡位目的，勾结外敌兴兵作乱，逼迫三公主嫁给自己的儿子。三公主为了平息战乱，让百姓过上太平日子，不惜大义赴死，留下了一段凄美的千古传奇。
