简介: 老张和儿女们居住在北京胡同中的一个小院里。在老伴过世三年后，老张与乐观善良的李桂香结了婚，可这位继母一踏进张家小院，就不得不面对张家儿女们出的一道道难题：大儿媳生活富裕，却总是担心李桂香来张家是为了争夺张家房产；二儿媳经历了丧夫丧子的痛楚，时至今日也不敢向往幸福的未来；小女儿张圆圆虽然单身，但倔强的性格使她无法与几位嫂子相处。为了让全家过上和睦幸福的生活，李桂香想尽一切方法，热心地帮着张家儿女们解决各种问题，虽然有时也遭遇孩子们的误解，虽然也常常按下了葫芦浮起瓢，可李桂香却无怨无悔地以母亲的真心照顾着这帮儿女。最终，孩子们体会到了继母李桂香的良苦用心，妯娌、姑嫂之间互相包容、互相谅解，老张家过上了幸福美满的生活。
