简介: 一九七七年高考，靠山屯知青刘思杨和乔慧敏名列前茅，两人约定报同一所大学，然后结婚。回乡青年王富贵看上乔慧敏，倚仗治保主任李大傻的势力，诬陷刘思杨。刘思杨和女知青郝佳丽被东方大学录取，乔慧敏却离奇落榜。十年以后，刘思杨在国外读完博士，带着妻子郝佳丽回到东大中文系当主任，总支书记恰好是乔慧敏。此时乔慧敏已经离婚，三个人感情风波不断。又一个十年过去了。乔慧敏当了厅长，刘思杨当了社会科学院院长。郝佳丽因追逐利益的驱使下海，与马家骏认识后与刘思杨离婚。马家骏因偷税而入狱，郝佳丽和他离婚，并想和刘思杨破镜重圆。刘思杨找女儿时出车祸失去记忆，最后奇迹出现了，一幕幕往事终于在刘思杨脑海里浮现出来。经过三十年的风风雨雨，刘思杨和乔慧敏终于兑现了婚约。
