简介: 乾隆末年，诸皇子争位，其中最有可能继位的是乾隆所称许的十一皇子永瑆和十五皇子永琰。为此，众大臣在朝野内外明争暗斗，二位皇子的母亲也频出奇招以讨乾隆欢心。永琰天性豁达，对此了无兴趣，永瑆却野心勃勃，并得到和珅鼎力相助，渐占优势。为对付永琰，永瑆不惜利用苦肉计多次陷害永琰，永琰为保护心上人花椒而被免去阿哥身份，永琰在民间看尽官场不良风气，同时争取掌握各种证据以揭穿朝内大臣的贪污受贿等恶劣行为。此外，永琰心上人因苦衷而嫁给福康安，加上十一皇子永瑆的再三陷害，由此上演一幕又一幕惊心动魄的故事。
