简介: 步入中年的国家一级教师李淑红因丈夫长期工作在外，独自培养教育着即将成年的儿子胡小刚。胡小刚伙同好友王一民、张乐文为给自己的女友打报不平，触犯法律被刑事拘留，小刚独自承担了所有罪责。一直疼爱小刚的姥爷因小刚入狱突患脑中风半身不遂，丈夫胡自力闻讯赶回家，对妻子李淑红横加指责，致使两人的感情出现危机。淑红也对自己教育孩子的失误感到伤心，内心无法面对讲堂，毅然辞去了教师工作，丈夫胡自力竟写来离婚协议进行要挟。面对如此巨大的变故，淑红毫无准备，但她以母亲的坚强，送走了病重不治的父亲，来到了儿子服刑的竹林镇，用自己真挚和无私的母爱，陪伴儿子度过最孤独、最苦痛的时刻。
