简介: 在上个世纪四十年代的四川阿坝地区，当地的藏族人民被十八家土司统治着，麦其土司便是其中之一。老麦其土司有两个儿子，大少爷为藏族太太所生，英武彪捍、聪明勇敢，被视为当然的土司继承人；二少爷为被土司抢来的汉族太太酒后所生，天生愚钝、憨痴冥鲁，很早就被排除在权力继承之外，成天混迹于丫环娃子的队伍之中，耳闻目睹着奴隶们的悲欢离合。麦其土司在国民政府黄特派员的指点下在其领地上遍种罂粟，贩卖鸦片。很快暴富，并迅速组建了一支实力强大的武装力量，成为土司中的霸主。眼见麦其家因鸦片致富，其余的土司用尽心计，各施手段盗得了罂粟种子广泛播种，麦其家的傻少爷却鬼使神差地建议改种麦子，于是在高原地区漫山遍野罂粟花的海洋里，麦其家的青青麦苗倔强的生长着……
