简介: 清朝宣统年间，留学日本的清朝福王爷之子寿元（冯远征饰），在父亲弥留之际赶回京城。寿元被迫告别日本情人花子，奉命娶了寿福晋（徐帆饰），又被迫做了王爷。洞房花烛夜，寿元发现十七岁的陪房丫头银杏（齐襄饰）在伺候新娘子吸大烟。他大怒之下离开了洞房。皇太后密旨，要寿元杀掉袁世凯。寿福晋的父亲奎九（李忠林饰）给袁家报信。袁世凯逃回老家。寿元的第一桩差事就办得如此窝囊。接着，寿元按照日本操法训练八旗劲旅，并得罪了许多人，朝廷免了他的副统领之职。寿元成了个无所事事的军咨府大臣。他迷上了听于子龙（杨威饰）的武生戏，成了梨园界的好主顾……
