简介: 大宋太宗年间，宋辽两国开战，杨继业率领两个儿子带兵将与辽军展开苦战。后因寡不敌众以及潘仁美的陷害，战死沙场。六郎杨延昭状告潘仁美陷害杨家忠烈。潘妃谗言太宗未果，命八贤王自选审判官审判，呼延瓒推荐山西峡谷县令寇准。此时，潘仁美、杨家众人两家各执一词，互告死状。寇准从山西太谷县七品县令调进京城主持审案，八贤王为了使杨家将沉冤昭雪，帮助寇老西儿与奸臣潘仁美和王强巧妙周旋、争斗，最终不仅保护了杨六郎，还使大宋王朝转危为安。看清了朝廷险恶的内幕后，寇准激流勇退，挂冠而去。
