简介: 上世纪八十年代初，一对异卵双生的姐妹降生在宁康小镇的卫生所。先出生的姐姐被父母抱回了家，取名路桐，后出生妹妹被父亲路强遗弃在了卫生所，帮助接生的大夫陈锦芳和杜宇国把她抱回了城，取名杜小馨。路强因为生活不顺利，经常醉酒回家，对路桐母子常常是拳脚相加，母亲邱雅丽为了路桐能够安稳地生活并顺利上学，她带着路桐一起逃到省城，投奔亲友。路桐和母亲相依为命，生活虽然清苦，但他们生活得很平安。直到得了绝症的路强怀着满心的忏悔，带着和路桐同父异母的弟弟石头来找邱雅丽，邱雅丽这才知道原来自己还有一个女儿。在城里生活的杜小馨自小过着无忧无虑的生活，一路顺风顺水地考上大学参加工作，生活中任何的磨难似乎和她没有任何关系，她的前途一片光明。然而，此时路桐却因为父亲的离世，母亲意外重伤，不得不放弃上大学的机会，担负起整个家庭的重任。但这一切并没能消磨路桐的意志，反而让她变得更加的坚强，母女俩相互鼓励，坚强地生活着。
