简介: 该剧以黔江农民工侯天明在家乡和北京职场打拼的故事为主线，讲述了一个农村草根青年及其一家人追寻“中国梦”的故事。侯天明从小在农村由爷爷奶奶带大，成年后去北京找到一份IT业工作，挣得不多，但看起来比弟弟天亮干体力活体面多了。侯天明性格虚荣好吹牛，妻女在老家生活，每月往家里打钱，认为自己尽了责任。长期分居，导致妻子跑掉，女儿成了留守儿童。天明在上司帮助下，把女儿接到北京，不久母亲生病要人照顾，天明无奈回到农村。回家后他无法融入家乡，留下不能干活只会吹的形象。母亲去世后，女儿和他回到北京，找不到工作。他逐渐了解了孩子，认识到父亲的责任，不愿女儿在北京受苦，于是回到农村，在本地企业找到了位置，并把自己的前上司动员过来。结尾，侯天明一家在家乡安顿下来。
