简介: 该剧以村民赵承甫一家四十年沧桑悲凉的凄婉经历为主线，叙述了一家三代悲欢离合的故事。五十年代初，赵承甫的长子光远，生性懦弱，顺从父亲意愿娶了桂珍为妻。光远的妹妹淑花被当地恶主强占为妻，解放后回到家，与水根相识逐生爱意，水根娘却极力反对，淑花怀了水根的孩子，被逼无奈与水根相约私奔。李永志的母亲得知淑花的遭遇，收留了她，李永志渐与淑花产生感情。前妻陆梦月得知李已再婚，无奈地离开这个家。 “十年动乱”结束，一家人团圆了。赵承甫一家经历了惨淡的四十年，淑花命运多舛的生活改变了赵家的一切。
