简介: 某个雨夜，一个男子在加班回家的路上被一个新婚前夕的卡车司机撞死，死者留下了年迈的母亲，体弱多病的妻子以及两个年幼的孩子。后经发现死去的男子主要死因是心脏病发作，但肇事司机毅然担负起照顾这一家的责任，在共同的生活中，双方相互谅解，而司机的女友只能无奈地与他分手。司机与死者妻子以及大女儿之间先后产生了情感。最终司机并没有和两个女人中的任何一个结婚，故事以悲剧收场，一条铁轨延续到远方，一个简单的行李和一个孤单的背影消失在视线的尽头。
