简介: 80年代的一天，川夏文化厅厅长何嘉走进歌舞厅找话剧团的李丹成。李丹成是从部队文工团转业的演员，因剧团不景气，自己到歌厅演唱，厅长要他出任团长，把剧团带出低谷。李丹成开始拒绝，但听到不大正派的顾斌要争当团长，李丹成怕剧团被葬送，挑起团长重任。开始举步维艰，加之排演大戏《哈姆莱特》无观众而失败，戏痴肖曼因此受到打击精神失常，李丹成心灰意冷。这时康乡长开导他为什么不编一些反映农村题材的、老百姓愿意看的戏，李丹成便派编剧卢光才、林青青等下农村体验生活，写出《咱们庄稼人》下乡演出大受欢迎。
