简介: 电视剧以一位年轻的患有学者综合症的外科医生为中心，讲述他被招募到一家著名医院的外科病房后所发生的一系列故事。一个没有能力与人相处的人真的能拯救他们的生命吗？肖恩·墨菲住在一个小镇，从小就患有自闭症，父亲经常打骂虐待他，在学校他也受到校园恶霸的欺负。肖恩有个弟弟名叫迪兰，他承担起了保护弟弟的责任，但很不幸迪兰在一次意外事故中死去了，从此肖恩就失去了他唯一可以交流的朋友，从此肖恩打定主意要做一名救死扶伤的医生。命运关上一扇门，但也给肖恩打开了一扇窗，他拥有照片般的记忆力，可以做到过目不忘，任何一点细微变动也逃不过他的眼睛。这在他当医生给别人做手术时提供了很大的帮助，也因此，看着他长大的格拉斯曼院长力排众议，让肖恩来自己主管的大城市医院做一名外科手术医生。肖恩的到来在这家声名显赫的医院里引发了争议，一些医生认为他连基本的与人打交道都不会，又怎能为病人看病呢。但也有医生，比如他的女同事克莱尔对他产生了惺惺相惜之感，在工作中经常帮助他。
