简介: 年轻干练的萝温娜·普莱斯是《纽约快报》的一名记者，她秉持正义，疾恶如仇。在一宗参议院性丑闻的报道被撤下后，萝温娜大发雷霆，一气之下辞去工作。在当晚，萝温娜邂逅多年未见的童年好友葛瑞丝，但一周后却得知葛瑞丝死于非命。葛瑞丝死前曾提到广告业巨头哈利森·希尔的名字，她与这个男人在网上结识，曾有过一段不伦之情。被对方甩掉后，葛瑞丝扬言要将奸情告诉哈利森的老婆。萝温娜判定这是一起谋杀案，她找来报社的搭档迈尔斯协助调查。一场猫鼠游戏就此展开。
