简介: 第二次国内革命战争时期，父母被地主山中狼杀害的放牛娃小勇参加红军后，当上了小号手。在一次战斗中，小勇负了伤被送往后方，在伤愈归队的路上，遇到蒋军向红军阵地进攻，情况十分危急。小勇在敌军背后吹起冲锋号，打乱了敌人的进攻计划，红军和游击队乘机攻入敌巢，小勇击毙了妄想逃窜的地主山中狼。经过红军的教育和战斗锻炼，小勇成为英勇的战士。
